Section 1: Project Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Since starting the course in September 2016, What do you know now, and what does it mean to you, (compared with what you knew and could do before you started the course). How does what you know now influence your choice of pathway and your project proposal.
What skills and processes are you competent with?
What would you like to learn more about?

Since starting in 2016, I've learnt how to use the adobe master suite. In particular Photoshop, InDesign, Muse, Lightroom and premier. I've also learnt how to use a range of equipment, such as a Panasonic HMC151 and a range of DSLR cameras. In the last academic year, I also learnt how to use LED lights and lighting theory.
I have decided to actually steer away from what I've learnt and I will instead make a podcast. This was encouraged by the course I plan on doing at uni which will focus on podcasting in the first year, I didn't want to be a fish out of water. I will learn about mics and podcasting editing and the different streaming services available for podcasters. This will encourage me to learn about new media formats.

Section 2 Project Concept: (approx. 200 words)
Clearly explain the concept and aims of your project and the context, research and ideas that will support its development. What are the historical, economic, social, mass media, cultural, issues, cultural events and political influences? What is it you want to communicate and who is your audience? Where will your media product exist and how will it be distributed? What access will you need to workshops? How will you use independent study?

The concept of my final major project is to create a five episode podcast-series, based on things I've learnt in my youth. The aim of my project is to communicate and educate listeners on things I learnt in my youth such as Applying to university, Healthy living, being your best self, Juggling Life and Thing’s I wish I knew when I was younger.
I will be researching the podcasting history, Podcasting and industry standards, the conventions of podcasts and I will also be experimenting with a range of mics to achieve industry standard audio quality. To do this I will need the support of an audio engineer and I will also need access to industry standard equipment. To aid my secondary research I will need access to a range of books on podcasting.
I will also be creating a logo for the podcast and also two live social media accounts on the platforms Twitter and Instagram. This is the best way to communicate with audience directly, which is people aged 18 to 25 -year olds. I will distribute my podcast on sound cloud and YouTube. I will also be doing a codes and conventions essay focusing on six podcasters their logos and their social media pages. I will need time to learn about Logic X pro so I can edit the project.

Section 3 Evaluation and Reflection: (Approx 50 words)
Explain how you will reflect on, and evaluate your work, as both an on-going activity and at the conclusion of the project. You should describe how you intend to record your decision making and how you will document changes to your ideas as work progresses. The evaluation should be referred back to your aims. It must be reflective (‘why? Because?’) and analytical rather than a description of actions completed.

I will write a reflective log each week, analysing all the elements of the project as they continue. I will do this in both written and video logs to have diversity through my logs, especially how my research will further influence my podcasts. I will also write an evaluation at the end of the project. Feedback from my peers and teachers will also be kept in consideration through the project.
Section 4: Research Sources and Bibliography
Record the initial research sources, both primary and secondary, that you intend to use. Your sources of research should be as wide as possible, including libraries, museums, galleries, journalism, articles, media, galleries, books, film/video, magazines, TV/radio programmes, web sites etc.
